Why SMB Pilot exists
Busy owners can't always answer.
Tradespeople and local service businesses win work through reputation and availability. But the nature of the work means owners are often on-site, driving between jobs, or serving a customer when a new call comes in.
A missed call from a genuine customer is a lost opportunity — not because the business isn't good at what it does, but because there was no way to capture that enquiry in the moment. Voicemail is rarely used. Callbacks often come too late. The caller has already moved on.
SMB Pilot was built around that specific problem: how do you recover a missed call in a way that's useful to the business and respectful to the caller?
What we're building
A natural SMS conversation that captures the enquiry.
When a call goes unanswered, SMB Pilot sends the caller a short SMS on behalf of the business. The message opens a brief, focused conversation — asking for the caller's name, what they need, where they are, and how urgent it is.
The business receives a structured summary: caller name, job description, area, and urgency. No raw transcript, no voicemail to transcribe — just the information needed to decide whether and how to follow up.
The conversation wording is business-appropriate and can be adapted for the participating business. The goal is a response that feels helpful to the caller and useful to the owner.
Built for real service businesses
Simple to set up. Minimal disruption.
No new number to advertise
Where the business's phone and network setup supports conditional call forwarding, the existing number stays in use. Answered calls continue normally.
Onboarding is straightforward
Forwarding behaviour and voicemail settings are checked during onboarding. There's no complex technical setup required from the business owner.
Adapted for the business
The SMS conversation wording can be tailored to reflect the business's trade, tone and typical enquiry types — not a one-size-fits-all script.
Structured leads, not transcripts
The output is a clean, labelled summary — caller, job, area, urgency — delivered in a format that's easy to act on without digging through a conversation log.
Starting with an early pilot
Testing with real businesses before scaling.
SMB Pilot is currently inviting a small number of Irish trades and service businesses to take part in an early pilot programme. Participants will use the service in real conditions, provide feedback, and help shape how it develops.
There is no charge for participating in the initial pilot. The scope and duration are agreed before onboarding. No commitment is required beyond a willingness to use the service and share honest feedback.
Applications are reviewed individually. We contact suitable applicants to discuss fit before any onboarding begins.
